    UNIVERSITY OF PUNE REVISED SYLLABUS FOR ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN FRENCH JUNE 2010 onwards

    1) Title of the course: Advanced Diploma in French
    2) Introduction:
    · This course is designed for students of Diploma in French from the University of
    Pune.
    · There is only one annual examination held in April.
    · There are three papers in all: two are written papers of 100 marks each and the third
    paper is an oral examination of 100 marks.
    3) Eligibility:
    1. Students who have passed the Diploma in French examination conducted by the
    University of Pune.
    2. Students having passed HSC exam with French / completed 360 hours of French from
    other institutes and having passed the Entrance Exam of the University of Pune
    4) Examination:

    d) Translation into English / French
    Translation passages selected should contain words or expressions which are included in the
    syllabus. The themes should also be based on the themes listed in the syllabus. The length of
    the passages for translation should be approximately 150 to 200 words.
    B) Standard of passing : Minimum 40 % in each paper and 50% aggregate.
    C) ATKT : Not applicable. Repeaters will have to appear for all three papers.
    D) Award of class : As per university rules.
    E) External students: Only repeaters are allowed.
    F) Setting of question paper : Done as per panel appointed by University.
    G) Verification of re-evaluation : As per university rules.
    5) Structure of the course:
    · The course is of 180 teaching hours. Classes of two hours each are held thrice a week.
    · There is an annual examination consisting of three compulsory papers: two written papers
    and one oral examination.
    6) Equivalence subjects/papers : Not applicable.
    7) University terms: one academic year of two terms.
