AUT's MBA is designed to offer you maximum flexibility. This allows you to continue working full time while completing your MBA part time.
You can choose the number of papers taken in any given term to fit around work demands, travel, and personal commitments provided you complete the qualification (180 points) within the required time period of four years.
Full time students usually complete the MBA within 18mths, however you can fast track and complete the qualification in one year.
Part time, the MBA usually takes between two to four years.

- Each paper involves six weeks of class learning
- One three-hour class per week
- This is followed by an examination week then a one week preparation period for the following term

MBA Induction
MBA Induction is held on the Friday before the commencement of term. Induction welcomes you to the programme and gives you the information you need about AUT and the MBA, including:

- Postgraduate study success seminars such as:
- Critical thinking & academic writing
- Databases, referencing and plagiarism
- Goals and study options
- Information systems
- Library information
- Enrolment and administration guidance
- Collecting course materials and textbooks
- City campus tour
To graduate with an MBA you must successfully complete 180 points, which is made up of core and elective papers.
You can choose to specialise in a particular discipline and extend your studies in that field. Students who complete a minimum of 37.5 points of elective papers within a particular discipline (as specified in the academic calendar) may graduate with an endorsement on their degree.
